Tripura: Section 144 has been imposed in two subdivisions of Tripura – Laxmipur and Kailashahar, said Unakoti Police. This comes following a breach of peace in two separate incidents in Tripura. The prohibitory orders were issued after a group of unidentified miscreants vandalised a Kali temple in Kailashahar’s Kubjhar area under Laxmipur Gram Panchayat on Friday. In a separate incident on the same day, an ABVP leader was allegedly attacked by NSUI and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad workers in Kailashahar. The vandalisation of the temple sparked outrage among workers of Hindu Jagaran Mancha and Hindu Yuva Bahini meeting in a deputation at the office of sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Kailashahar Chandan Saha demanding the immediate removal of officer-in-charge (OC) Partha Munda, who allegedly failed to ensure proper security to the temple.
