Section 144 Imposed in 2 Tripura Subdivisions After Temple Vandalisation, Attack on ABVP Leader

Tripura: Section 144 has been imposed in two subdivisions of Tripura – Laxmipur and Kailashahar, said Unakoti Police. This comes following a breach of peace in two separate incidents in Tripura. The prohibitory orders were issued after a group of unidentified miscreants vandalised a Kali temple in Kailashahar’s Kubjhar area under Laxmipur Gram Panchayat on Friday. In a separate incident on the same day, an ABVP leader was allegedly attacked by NSUI and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad workers in Kailashahar. The vandalisation of the temple sparked outrage among workers of Hindu Jagaran Mancha and Hindu Yuva Bahini meeting in a deputation at the office of sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Kailashahar Chandan Saha demanding the immediate removal of officer-in-charge (OC) Partha Munda, who allegedly failed to ensure proper security to the temple. Bypolls 2021 LIVE Updates: Moderate Turnout Recorded in 3 Lok Sabha, 29 Assembly Seats; Voting Underway

New Delhi: Bypolls to three Lok Sabha seats and 29 Assembly constituencies across 14 states/UTs began at 7 am on Saturday. The Lok Sabha seats that are undergoing polls are — Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, Khandwa in Madhya, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Pradesh. In Mandi, elections were necessitated as the seat fell vacant after the death of Ramswaroop Sharma (BJP) in March. The by-election to the Khandwa parliamentary constituency was necessitated following the death of BJP member Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan while in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, it was due to the demise of Independent Lok Sabha member Mohan Delkar. The 29 assembly seats where polling is underway are in West Bengal (5), Haryana (4), Bihar (2), Assam, Himachal Pradesh (3), Madhya Pradesh (3), Maharashtra (1), Andhra Pradesh (1), Karnataka (2), Rajasthan (2), Telangana (1), Meghalaya (3), Mizoram (1) and Nagaland (1). The counting of votes will take place on November 2. New Delhi: In a big relief to millions of parents, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Saturday approved the Pfizer Covid vaccine for children aged 5 to 11, making it the first shot against the deadly virus for kids in the United States.  The development comes two days after an FDA advisory panel voted unanimously, with one abstention, that the vaccine’s benefits in preventing COVID-19 in that age group outweigh any potential risks. New Delhi: The stage is set for byelections to three Lok Sabha seats and 29 assembly constituencies spread across 13 states and one UT, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, to be held on Saturday with many of them being seen as an issue of prestige for parties hit by defections. In majority of the seats, the main fight will be between the Bharatiya Janta Party and Congress candidates. Adequate security and Covid-19 safety measures have been put in place for the electoral exercise, the Election Commission has said. The counting of votes will take place on November 2. International Flights: Air India Express Announces Flights Between Abu Dhabi, Kozhikode From Nov 4 | Check Full Flight Schedule, Ticket Fare

International Flights Latest News Today: As the coronavirus cases have gone down in the country and air travel guidelines have been relaxed to great extent, Air India Express announced resumption of international flight operation between Abu Dhabi’s Al Ain and Kozhikode in Kerala from November 4, 2021. Notably, the flights by Air India Express between Abu Dhabi and Kozhikode were suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 spread. As per the flight schedule shared by Air India Express, the first flight (IX 0335) will take off from Kozhikode and land at Al Ain International Airport by 12.25 PM, and the return service (IX 0336) will depart at 1.25 PM. Notably, the first service will commence from November 4 with a weekly operation on Thursday.
