Lockdown in Andhra Pradesh Extended Till June 10 | Check Details

New Delhi: Though the COVID-19 cases have been witnessing a steady decline over the past week, the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh government on Monday decided to extend the ongoing lockdown till June 10. The decision to continue the restrictions was taken after a review of the current COVID-19 scenario in the state.

Notably, the lockdown, which was first imposed on May 5 following the unprecedented rise in coronavirus cases, was supposed to end on May 31.

Meawnhile, the government has allowed shops and establishments to open between 6 am to 12 noon. After 12 PM, there will be strict restrictions in the state till 6 AM and only emergency services would be permitted.

“Prohibitory orders under Section 144 Cr P C will continue to be in force from 6 am to 12 noon,” the sources said.

List Of Restrictions

  • A strict statewide curfew will be imposed from 12 PM to 6 AM, during which only emergency services will be allowed to function.
  • All shops, commercial establishments like restaurants will close at 12 PM.
  • Hospitals, chemists, and other essential services are allowed to operate.
  • All kinds of public gatherings banned.
  • The cap on guests allowed for weddings has been fixed at 50.
  • Agricultural activities are allowed to continue in adherence to the guidelines issued by the agriculture department.
  • The manufacturing sector has also been granted exemption by the government.
